About This Work Product

The GA4GH Framework for Responsible Sharing of Genomic and Health-Related Data is founded on Principles and Core Elements. These Principles and Core Elements will be elaborated by Policies on particular issues. This Policy template proposes how such Policies can take shape. The Policies can become the tools and benchmarks that approved entities, recognized by different jurisdictions, turn or refer to for guidance. These Policies can help entities make improvements or adopt specific best practices for responsible data sharing and governance processes. Recognizing diversity of legal and ethical approaches and being responsive to emerging issues, both the Framework and its Policies are intended to provide leadership on these issues. We encourage you and members of your organizations to share thoughts with us on this proposed Policy template.
